Melbourne Web Fest is one of only two international web festivals in Australia, and is the fourth festival of its kind in the world. MWF has a proud history of celebrating digital content, and 2025 is shaping up to be another show-stopping year.
Melbourne Web Fest features web series, podcasts, and actual play (audio & video) projects. MWF is also a proud participant in the Audio Fiction World Cup.
In addition to the annual official selection, Melbourne Web Fest also promotes projects with more modest budgets, with its Spotlight program (Australian and international projects produced for less than $50,000 USD).

2025 News:
Festival Director Courtney Powell and Festival Producer Stayci Taylor remain at the helm for 2025, after a successful 2024 festival resurgence. In 2025 we welcome the ongoing collaboration with RMIT University with an even deeper engagement with the staff and students of the School of Media and Communication – watch this space!
Once again we are running the festival the weekend following the Sydney Web Fest, so as to support and encourage creators to tour their selections. Save the date for SWF: 10-12 October 2025.
Our very special submission price remains: $50 AUD per submission ($35 AUD for student projects), for the duration of the entire submission period.
