The Inspired Dance Film Festival (IDFF) is Australia’s premier international celebration of dance on film, showcasing innovation, creativity, and global collaboration. As it approaches its 6th annual season, IDFF25 promises an extraordinary experience in Sydney, where filmmakers worldwide gather to present their talents.
IDFF25 sees the inclusion of our youth dance filmmakers, aged 13 to 17. This initiative nurtures the next generation of talent, providing young filmmakers and schools with an international stage to explore and celebrate the fusion of movement and film. By doing so, the festival fosters cultural exchange and highlights emerging perspectives in dance on film.
Inclusivity remains a hallmark of IDFF, with award categories celebrating Indigenous filmmakers, cultural performances, LGBTQI+ works, and films featuring dancers with disabilities. This commitment ensures diverse voices are recognized and celebrated.
The festival features curated in-person screenings, masterclasses, and panel discussions with industry experts, creating a vibrant hub for learning and dialogue. All officially selected films are also accessible via the Digital Suite, reaching audiences worldwide.
The event culminates in a spectacular Gala Screening and Awards Ceremony, honoring outstanding contributions to dance filmmaking. IDFF25 is more than a festival—it’s a global platform celebrating diversity, creativity, and the universal language of dance.
