Open Channel delivers another stellar line up of speakers and sessions in the GENERATION NEXT: FACING UP TO REALITY Conference at Docklands Studios on 9 and 10 December 2013.

To be launched by comedian and television personality Lawrence Mooney (Dirty Laundry Live, ABC 2) and with guest speakers including:

Caroline Spencer – Director of Development, Fremantle Media (Executive Producer of Recipe To Riches, and formerly MasterChef, Farmer Wants A Wife)
Rory Callaghan – Executive Director, Shine Australia (the production company behind The Voice, So You Think You Can Dance, The Bachelor, The Biggest Loser)
Deb Stewart – Executive Producer, Southern Star (Big Brother, and previously Deal Or No Deal)
Michael Hirsh – Principal, Working Dog (Thank God You’re Here)

GENERATION NEXT: FACING UP TO REALITY will explore the escalating popularity of format based, reality and light entertainment television.

Industry producers and broadcasters will have the opportunities to share production, experiences and insights into the popularity of the reality genre and speculate on the future of Australian television broadcasting.

Topics at GENERATION NEXT: FACING UP TO REALITY will include insights into the big international formats, creating new Australian formats, the narrative element of reality television, what television networks want, as well as a number of case studies and interactive sessions.

Now in its third year and supported by Film Victoria, the Open Channel Generation Next conference series support Victoria’s emerging and established screen industry practitioners with an accessible environment for networking and discussion.
