It’s the golden age of television. The most successful writers in the world today write for TV and Showrunners have become the voice of our generation, creating the most original and brilliant television series ever produced.

  • Ellen Sandler, leading TV writing expert, career coach and Emmy-nominated Co-Executive Producer of Everybody Loves Raymond;
  • Carole Kirschner, currently runs the Writers Guild of America’s Showrunner Training Program and the CBS Diversity Writers Mentoring Program; and
  • Steve Kaplan, creator of the HBO Workspace, the HBO New Writers Program, now serves as a consultant and script doctor to such US companies as Dreamworks, Disney, HBO, Paramount and Touchstone.
  • Four of the most respected and sought after teachers of television writing and producing in the world today, all with a wealth of experience writing and developing series ideas for major networks and cable, including HBO, NBC, Disney, Spelling Entertainment, CBS and the ABC.

    The evening sessions feature Glen Mazzara, who will talk about his internationally acclaimed career as Executive Producer and Showrunner for The Walking Dead. With an average viewing audience of 13.5 million, season three is smashing cable TV records and helping to define a new era in television. He will then be joined onstage for a panel discussion with Australian TV creators including Tony Ayres from Matchbox Pictures (The Slap, The Straits), Adam Zwar (Lowdown, Wilfred) and Claudia Karvan (Love My Way, Spirited).
