Award-winning Australian composer and musician Jared Underwood has won 2013’s Tropscore competition, part of Tropfest, the world’s largest short film festival.

In its fifth year, Tropscore – through a partnership between Tropfest and APRA – sets musicians the task of creating the musical accompaniment for a selected short film, with a $5000 cash prize. This year’s short film was Matt Bird’s The Exchange, which audiences will be able to catch – with Underwood playing the score live – at Movie Extra Tropfest at Sydney’s The Domain on Sunday 17 February, when Tropfest opens.
