This is a lovely photograph. David Gulpilil and Cate Blanchett, with a glowing Rolf De Heer in the background, emblematic of such deep grace. From ACMI, at the opening of Screen Worlds in 2009.

The award, for his performance in Charlie’s Country, which draws so much on his own experience and stories, is a fine moment of justice.
