The X Media Lab is now ten years old, has reinvented itself, and is testing some new ideas with a new iteration at Vivid Sydney. Always meta, the travelling thinkfest has now gone meta-meta, loaded with intercultural experience. It is deliberately appealing to a much broader arts and cultural community.

As Megan Elliott, director of X Medi Lab with founder Brendan Harkin, admitted, “Ten years is like three lifetimes in digital years. We’ve done over sixty events in twenty cities in fourteen countries, with only three of those had English as as first language.
