Dr Gregory Dolgopolov, lecturer at the School of Arts and Media at the University of NSW, lists among his research interests Russian cinema, multiculturalism and vampires.

As a labour of love, he also creates the multi-state travelling Russian Resurrection Film Festival, which is now in its twelfth incarnation, and running in Sydney with other cities to follow soon. At the other end of the spectrum compared to the government-financed Japanese Film Festival which we explored last week, the Russian version has no official support whatsoever, and is knitted together with a mixture of tenacity and problem-solving which is deeply impressive.
