The Broadcast Film Critics Association in the US somehow failed to notice the works of genius from Shanghai, Burkina Faso and Copenhagen in favour of Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Orphan Black and Breaking Bag. Top of the Lake almost stood for the Rest of the World, although the award did go to an American on the show.
The Broadcast Film Critics Association has been running movie awards sincde 1995, and branched out into television in 2011. What took them so long? They claim to be working critics active in television, radio and online – that being the ‘broadcast’ part of the name.
