Tim Winton’s The Turning, the group film produced by Robert Connolly and Maggie Miles, emerged from its cone of silence to be unveiled to a fascinated screen sector on Saturday Night at MIFF in the presence of all but two of its seventeen directors. It was a surprisingly relaxed historic moment.
