Blocked from access to public money and airwaves, documentary makers are forming alliances with the philanthropic sector. The Documentary Australia Foundation is doing important work, and suppporting valuable projects. But, as a matter of public policy, we should recognise that philanthropists can be very sinister, and warp entire societies towards aan extreme free market view of the world.
