It is as if they never left! And indeed, they didn’t really – they just weren’t official since late November. But the long dissolve has left Ten clear of the ugly tussle with the ABC, so now at least it beats the government broadcasters.

On Friday night, the second episode of The Dr Blake Mysteries took 935,000 in the five mainland capitals, which gave the ABC a lead over everthing else except the news. That figure was down from a heartstarting and artificially high 1,176,000 for the first outing.
