Weinstein choofs even further into the affections of Australian producers by taking North American rights to The Railway Man.

Harvey Weinstein, notorious for rebuilding films to suit his home territory, took The Sapphires uncut, to make $US2.45m in four months, peaking at 126 cinemas. The picture later attracted criticism for the DVD artwork which privileged the White actor as the central draw.
