Tania Chambers and Alex Stitt are the only two people linked with screen production who were mentioned in the 2016 Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Last year there were nine, including the spectacular activist Merle Haggard.
Stitt is a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia, and a veteran animator. Phillip Adams asked him to design four storyboards for a new campaign he had dreamt up called Life, Be In It, for the federal government. That night Stitt conceived the iconic family, and Norm, the happy slob who became part of our cultural history.
