Merely gross for outsiders, this story has a certain joyous fascination for the screen sector. And six and a half years jail for Bashar Al-Issa, from Iraq or Kuwait via a ruined restoration job in upstate New York, is about right. Rorting the tax support system for the film industry is not cool.

The trailer for UK production Landscape of Lies is a handy compendium of cliches for the budding genre specialist. Director Paul Knight, whose latest IMDB’d feature project Dead Wood is allegedly budgeted at five hundred pounds, at least made it look credible in a down-market kind of way.
