Piracy: Who will walk the plank?

The Government has finally responded to the long scandal of digital piracy with a historic piece of legislation. What happens next?

With the passing of the Copyright Amendment (Online Infringement) Bill 2015 through the Senate last Thursday, Australian copyright holders now have two ways of attacking piracy with the force of law.

They can apply to the Federal Court for an injunction which will compel local Internet Service Providers to block overseas sites whose primary activity is distributing pirated material.
