The Sapphires has now taken $US1.145.000 in the US. Still climbing, but more slowly, as the Weinsteins add cinemas.

It may only be an estimate, but the 14% gain to $US 262,000 return over the weekend of April 19th-22nd 2013 is still pleasing. It pushed up from 93 to 114 cinemas, after hitting 60 the week before so this is a classic Weinstein spread.

In its fifth week, the cinema average is down to $2,298, from $2,267 which is not so hot. It suggests the audience is a hard-core fan base, enticed by the Motown edge.
