Last Friday’s announcement that All3Media’s subsidiary North One Television Australia has been carried off by its management in a buy-out raises some interesting questions. Like why, and what does that mean for its North One parent in London, and how come a company with its roots in sport is doing kids’ TV for ABC3?

The short answer from new owner Adam Kay is that he wanted to and he could and he likes to be independent.
