Speed freaks and petrol heads will be watching with glee as the 2013 Superbike World Championship kicks off on Phillip Island in Victoria this weekend. Seven and a half hours of live action will be broadcast on Foxtel, yet none of this footage will be captured by Australian camera crews, according the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA).

The Alliance today held a protest to highlight a legal loophole that allows international television crew to work at major events without entering into the usual visa arrangements with the union.
