Every three years, the Screen Producers’ Association and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance negotiate the Motion Picture Production Agreement, which is a very useful tool in setting pay and conditions. That time is fast approaching.
As part of its research, the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance is running a survey to ensure the deal is based on conditions in the real world. Although it was originally set between the Screen Producers Association and the old AT&AEA, (the Australian Theatrical & Amusement Employees’ Association), to cover film crews, it now basically covers all scripted entertainment, in both film and television, with a side order of documentaries.
