When a small games company takes out the Film Victoria’s Tim Richards Award, the $5000 has a particular poignancy. Richards was much loved by his community, as a new medial lawyer, philosopher, advocate and inspiration who helped create the sector in Australia over its first ten years. He died at the age of 36 in 2008 after a heart-lung transplant. It was a bitter moment.
