Jenni Tosi, CEO of Film Victoria, explained that that the changes have been put in place to “support the industry to build and grow. It’s about providing efficient and effective services and simplifying processes to maximise benefits to the Victorian screen industry.”

She said that the work really began from the board planning days in March 2013, based on a body of work put together by staff. The Board received an in-principle agreement to proceed, and an external review was undertaken as well as consultations with industry practitioners who met with the board. These included people from the games sector, distribution, feature film producers, television producers and others. Jenni herself also consulted with a range of people throughout the year. The aim was to find ways to “empower producers to take ownership of their work and maximise the returns of that work while also simplifying our processes to improve the ease of doing business with Film Victoria.”
