Retailer JB HI-FI has reported its half-year results to the end of 2012, with sales of DVDs and televisions slumping. Software sales (music, movies and games) fell 10.8% on a comparable store basis, while television sales were down 17.9%.

Overall, the company made a net profit of $82 million in the six months to December 31, up from $79.6 million in the same period for 2012. Total sales grew 2.3% from the same period in 2012, due to growth in the company’s number of stores. On a comparable store basis, sales were down 3.5%.
