Hugh Jackman has taken the Golden Globe award for best actor in a musical for his role in Les Misérables, while Naomi Watts, Sigourney Weaver and Nicole Kidman miss out. Weaver was nominated for best actress in a mini-series or telemovie for her role in Political Animals, while Watts was nominated for best actress in a motion picture, drama, for her role in The Impossible. Kidman was up for the best supporting actress in a motion picture award.
