Flickerfest: short film glory to greet 2015

Four days of rain, six days of sun, ten days of snappy shorts to the sound of waves - Flickerfest is surely a cultural icon.

‘Yes, I am doing a happy dance and I’m quite hungover,’ said Eddy Bell. ‘It was such a great festival. Flickerfest is awesome and it is great to get an award.’

Bell, with producer Khobe Rowe, won the Virgin Award for Best Australian Short Film at Flickerfest 2015. Having just finished her seventeenth Flickerfest, director Bronwyn Kidd remains enchanted by the audiences coming into the dark on such an iconic summer beach.  ‘In a city like Sydney, where there is so much on, and an oversaturation of culture, it is great to see people connecting to unique and niche events’, she said, ‘because that is what we are, really.’
