The last event of the awards calendar for Australian films released in 2014 is a duel between a pair of tiny organisations.

The Australian Film Critics Association defines itself as ‘a professional association for film critics, film reviewers and film journalists who work regularly in the media, and provide informed discussion, analysis, and comment about Australian and world cinema.’ It is a member of FIPRESCI, the international association of film critics.
