Felony: Joel Edgerton and Matthew Saville

Felony premiered as the Closing Night film at MIFF. Edgerton and Saville discuss the development and their working relationship.

Screenwriter and actor Joel Edgerton started writing Felony in 2007 as a short film, but within a week of writing it, he knew that there was a lot more to the story. He set to work on the feature script and explained that, ‘The real next phase of the writing happened when Matthew [Saville] and I joined forced, because Matthew had opinions about character and story that then became what the film is today, by conversation and pushing characters and story in directions that were going to satisfy him as a filmmaker,’ Edgerton said.
