The discussion included Dreamworks employees Doug Cooper (VFX Supervisor), Kendal Cronkhite (Production Designer), Christophe Lautrette (Production Designer) and Jason Schleifer (Head of Character Animation).

How did you get your start in the industry?

Explaining her entry into the industry, Kendal Cronkhite said she had studied art and become an advertorial illustrator when a former teacher gave her a call. He was working on Tim Burton’s The Nightmare before Christmas and at the time, Kendal had just moved to San Francisco. It happened that her personal animation style was similar to Tim Burton, so she applied at her teacher’s suggestion and got the job. She enjoyed the broadening of her skills into the animation area and quickly became completely hooked. After A Nightmare Before Christmas, she worked on James and the Giant Peach, then joined Dreamworks.
