Three documentaries are nominated for the Walkley Awards, one from the ABC in-house Four Corners team, and two from the independent sector.
The Four Corners nomination is for Closing Ranks, for which the nominees are Quentin McDermott, Morag Ramsay and Kevin May. It is about the death of Adam Salter at the hands of the police, in the presence of his family. He had a mental illness, was said by the police to have grabbed a knife, and was being restrained by his father from killing himself. The police did it for him.
