Jennifer Crone, who has worked in the UK and Australia, inside broadcasters and as a freelancer, wants to argue that the real issue is the current power model inside the broadcasters. This is just a sketch, and a closely argued case would be huge, but she is encapsulating her own experience.

Jennifer Crone was commissioning editor for documentaries at SBS as it introduced ads inside programs, and made its bid to entice mainstream audiences to taste its unfamiliar fare. All that remains from those years is a host of cooking shows, an emphasis on comedy and much improved returns on its advertising slots.
