The Australian attempts to snaffle the Disney remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea climaxed in Canberra today as the suits from Disney met the suits from Minister Crean’s office for thirty minutes of vital dealing.

Minister Crean announced at a doorstop after the meeting that the Federal government is very close to a deal.

“It was a very successful meeting with Disney, and I think we’ve made some very important progress. I think we can get an arrangement, bit it still requires detail to be bedded down with the States.”
