Screen Australia’s latest delegation to Beijing is the first official group to focus on factual entertainment. The role of government is just one factor in an evolving but unique set of relationships between Australian and Chinese companies and broadcasters.
Screen Australia is providing $15000 to each of eleven companies active in factual television, but there are at least another nine representatives in the group. Between 12th to the 18th of November, the delegation will be propelled by Screen Australia and its representative Chris Oliver to Beijing for a round of meetings and panels, and then to Chengdu for the twelfth annual Sichuan TV Festival.
