Pukeko Pictures has announced a 200 x 10 mins deal which will put the New Zealand production into the centre of Chinese animation – which it already helped to develop.
Pukeko has taken a lot of time and trouble to get to this deal, but the New Zealand company attracted easy interest in China – it is owned by Sir Richard Taylor, Tania Rodger and Martin Baynton, and is closely connected to Weta Workshop which in turn is embedded in Peter Jackson’s production empire.
