Following the short film lineups announced earlier in the week, and with Directors’ Fortnight and Critics’ Week sidebars to come early next week, Cannes announced its official selections Thursday.
Baz Luhrman’s The Great Gatsby will open the festival, while the main competition of which features plenty of returning filmmakers who have cult appeal at best.
