The Cannes Film Festival may be Narcissus Central for Planet Sociopath, but it also create experiences which can leave true believers awed and silent at their magic. Tara Judah reveals some reasons for joy.

It’s time to roll up the red carpet and close the curtains on the 66th International Cannes Film Festival. There are lots of ‘final thoughts’ as I pack my suitcase. Did I miss the winning film? Did I miss the best film? Are my boots really dry now or will everything in my suitcase get mouldy? The thing I’ve been thinking about most however is the cinema experience in festival context.
