My friend for 36 years Cameron Allan died a few weeks ago after a long illness, in the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis. Already I miss his old- world manners, his endless curiosity and wonderfully, witty idiosyncratic way of focusing on and rhapsodizing about the most obscure details of everyday life.
