Some lovely moments in Last Cab to Darwin.

Icon’s campaign to launch Last Cab to Darwin on 221 screens around Australia is working pretty will, since it pulled in $5,195/screen on its first weekend.

This is a pretty homely film, driven by character and landscape, with some useful names like Michael Caton and Jacki Weaver whose performances are nicely matched by Ningali Lawford-Wolf and Mark Coles Smith.  The combination of euthanasia, jokes, desert and character has pretty well charmed its reviewers, and Icon threw in a strong Q&A preview tour in nine cinemas last weekend.
