Nice result for Holding the Man as the Last Cab keeps driving round town and Fury Road gets kissed by arthouse mob.

Holding The Man went out on 31 screens, and took a screen average of $7787, to assemble $466,000 at the box office. That is a very good boutique opening, which will make Transmission pretty happy.

Last Cab to Darwin, in its fourth week, is still at number 7, though it is now only making $2674/screen, down from $3,384 last week. It only dropped a single screen to 246. The 21% drop is probably caused by exhibitors who moved the picture to less friendly slots. It has now taken $5.5m, in Icon’s satisfying but sadly rare incursion into Australian films. â€‹
