Image: never has a Singer looked so good.

The Dressmaker took off to optimistic headlines at the beginning of the weekend. The story continued to be good, helped along by the absence of a tentpole competitor. It took almost $3.2m off 384 screens at an average of $8240. Exhibitors will be very happy while the flaws raised by some reviewers are not noticed at all.
