Producer Philippa Campey describes her ‘first time at the Berlinale’ experience in a fine year for Australian productions on the world stage. What’s more, she finds an inspiring politician standing up for artistic independence.
Philippa Campey is an independent producer and director of Film Camp. She is attending the 64th Berlinale with her feature debut Galore, with writer and director Rhys Graham. They also have contributed to the feature portmanteau The Turning by Robert Connolly, which is having its international premiere at Berlinale. Rhys’ travel and their publicity materials were funded by Screen Australia and Philippa’s travel was supported by Film Victoria. They have flown their four lead cast to Berlin too, on the strength of a successful Pozible campaign. Philippa is reporting on Berlinale and EFM at the start of Day 6.
