In which our correspondent, Dr O’D, turns into a modern day Mr Kurtz, and travels to a remarkable Indonesian studio. Is Serangood Road our first major encounter with serious competition from the Singapore hub?

For an Aussie lad, it was an adventure to travel from the city-state of Singapore to the Infinite film studios on the Indonesian island of Batam. It was here that much of the recent Australian-Singapore co-production, Serangoon Road, was shot.
