Six months after it officially launched it’s distributor-for-hire model, new Melbourne theatrical distributor, The Backlot Studios, is expanding it’s slate and services, adding a range of post-production services to the mix. Some surprisingly names are on board with the new model, including Eric Bana, Robert Connolly, John Jarratt and Alan Finney.

Founded in March by Tony Ianiro and Mark D’Angelo, The Backlot Studios combines a private cinema for hire, and audio studio, along with a film distribution business. ScreenHub interviewed them both in the private bar (over a cup of tea), surrounded by historic cinema posters.
