While the media have been in a frenzy about the alleged death of democracy with an independent overseer to the overseeing organization owned by the proprietors, the screen sector continues to grieve over the lack of first-run content provisions on the sub-channels. But it seems the AWG’s intervention was an accident.
The AWG commissioned a Newspoll survey in which 1,204 people were questioned to glean an insight into the Australian public’s attitude. Participants were asked questions pertaining to the content quotas currently in place on the main FTA networks, and whether they thought those quotas were sufficient.
