You have to dig deep to find Australians in the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards as the entertainment hysteria sector focuses (rightly) on the celebration of diversity in the result.
But, on the red carpet, while the audience headed for its seats like weeny coral polyps heading for the hull of the wrecked ship SS Humility, Mad Max: Fury Road won the Best Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture award, given out on the red carpet. The opponents were comparative tiddlers – Everest, Furious 7, Jurassic World and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
