Probably the most organised assault on the international market by Australians in the arts is seen in Hollywood where directors, cinematographers, designers and above all actors have formed a supportive and self-sustaining colony.

It even has its own formal organisation, called Australians In Film (AiF), with an outpost in New York. Its president is Simonne Overend, originally from Melbourne via Singapore and London, who is a development executive employed by Essential Media, a Sydney based company active in film, television and new media.
