Tourism and Events Queensland has publically divorced the Asia-Pacific Screen Awards. Can APSA survive this rejection?
The Australia Pacific Screen Awards were started six years ago, under the control of Events Queensland, to honour the best films of a vast region which extends from the Middle East to New Zealand, and covers India, China and South-East Asia.
Associated with UNESCO, FIAP (the International Federation of Film Producers Associations) and the European Film Academy, it established a regional Film Academy in 2008, whose members are the nominees for the awards, along with the jury members, who are respected international figures.
