APSA 2015: tracking the rise and rise of Asian cinema for the west

The extraordinary Apichatpong Weerasethakul, known mostly to Australian audiences for Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives, can now add an APSA to his Palm D’Or. This is particularly fine as he keeps getting nominations on the festival circuit but doesn’t take home a trophy. This is his first major drama award in the Asia Pacific.
