Anthony entered the field of animation when he discovered that it was “an affordable way to make science fiction or fantasy stories, which I was interested in when I was about 25.” His 1989 short film Happy Hatchday to Plasmo was bought by the ABC, and developed into a television series. This was followed by Looking for Horses in 2001, before working as an animator on the stop motion feature, Mary and Max, directed by Adam Elliot.
