The AIDC has announced that tickets are open for its super early bird discount from 8 November while it begins to shape the program for 2016.
Key to this is the primal fact that this is the 30th anniversary of the AIDC. It started more or less on a pavement in Melbourne around a screenwriters’ conference, emerged by a lake in South Australia’s McLaren Vale, and retreated from commerce to the ANU for a memorable year with the first Asian delegates. It skittered around the country every two years, to gaze at the setting sun over the Indian Ocean, trundle around the capitals and camp in a pair of tends in Byron Bay, in its most challenging but imaginative year.
