AFI/AACTA open for 2016 nominations, reveals the event dates

The AFI/AACTA machine is grinding into gear, as awards season brings new categories and same broadcaster.

Once more the mighty Academy beast takes flight to deliver another awards season. Image: actually a Russian Ekranoplan ground-effect vehicle on the Caspian Sea.

The AACTA Awards are open for business in the feature film, documentary and short film categories. In the midst of confirming last week that Seven continues to be the host this year, with an encore screening on Foxtel, the AFI is reminding the sector to focus on entries.
